Fresh water can still be very useful to us however we should never direct its use for human or animal consumption. We should keep the dams that we have built merely for the production of electric power. Allow gravity to benefit our existence by spinning turbines for power generation wherever possible. If we allow the fresh water to fill creeks, streams and rivers as it used to then it will restore the habitats that enhance the food chain. The most important effect will be to start to restore the water tapped from the water tables. If we do so then we take another step toward avoiding possible ‘Dust Bowl’ events.
